The Labour Party in Manor Ward

 Hero No. 1  -  is Mrs. Dewhurst,  a seasoned multitasker who picks up litter in Woodlands Park whilst out walking her dog. The Friends of Woodlands Park nominated Mrs. Dewhurst for an award Stockport Council gives to residents of Special Merit. They could not have found a more deserving resident.

Mrs. Dewhurst and her husband started gathering litter on dog-walking tasks several years ago.  People often told them they were wasting their time.  Mrs. Dewhurst won't have any of it:  "Everybody thinks everybody else should do it" she says. "We ARE everybody", she laughs and one finds it hard to disagree with this.  And there are two children and three grandchildren who must be very proud to have a hero for a mum and gran. 

Unsurprisingly, Mrs. Dewhurst thinks that love is the most important thing in life.  How lucky Manor residents are that Mrs. Dewhurst decided to spread it around the neighbourhood. Thank You, Mrs. Dewhurst !!
